ABOUT REAL BEGINNINGS

At Real Beginnings, learning begins with wonder, play, and connection. Our half-day preschool and Pre-K program for children ages 3–5 creates a joyful, nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged, confidence is built, and every child feels safe to grow. This is where strong beginnings take shape.

REAL BEGINNINGS FAST FACTS

We believe early childhood education lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning, curiosity, and growth. We are committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and joyful classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them. We believe children learn best through play, hands-on experience, and meaningful relationships. Through play, children develop social skills, problem-solving abilities, language, creativity, and self-confidence. Our activities and learning environments are thoughtfully designed to encourage children to ask questions, take risks, and engage in discovery. We see each moment of play as an opportunity to nurture critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience, while honoring the natural curiosity and wonder that all preschoolers possess. We strive to create a classroom community built on kindness, respect, and empathy. We believe that teaching is not only about sharing knowledge but also about building trusting relationships with children, families, and the broader community. By fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment, we help children develop a sense of belonging and an understanding of their role as caring members of a diverse world. Ultimately, our goal is to nurture joyful, confident, and compassionate learners who are equipped with the social, emotional, and cognitive skills they need to thrive - not only in school but in life. REAL BEGINNINGS strives to be a LEVEL 4

What is Paths to Quality?

Paths to Quality is a voluntary, statewide quality rating and improvement system for early education and care in the state of Indiana.

Why is Paths to Quality Important?

High quality early childhood programs are about more than just keeping your children busy during the day. Research has shown that the first 5 years are the most important time for your child’s brain development. High quality early childhood programs help get the most out of that development to prepare your children for more success later in their lives. And the benefits are for more than just the children. Research has shown that high quality early childhood programs provide stability and confidence to parents, allowing them to be more effective at work and have less stress in their lives.

What do the Ratings Mean?

The Paths to Quality ranks build on one another. By the time a provider reaches level 4, they’re nationally accredited for providing quality early education based on a number of key factors.

The Levels...

Level 1 – Providers voluntary join with a goal to improve the quality of their care and education. Level 1 providers meet all health and safety standards.

Level 2 – Providers at this level meet all of the level 1 standards, and additionally offer environments that support the growth, development, and learning of the children.

Level 3 – To go from level 2 to level 3, a provider needs to implement a curriculum designed to support the learning and school-readiness of the children.

Level 4 – This is the highest ranking, showing the provider’s commitment to the highest level of care. At this point the provider becomes a nationally accredited early childhood education school.
