COMING SOON!

Yep. Real Life is launching a preschool in Fall 2026!

SOME INFO....     Who We Are
REAL BEGINNINGS PRESCHOOL (RB) is an extension of the mission of Real Life Community Church of the Nazarene (RLCC), 3134 Swanson Rd. Portage, IN 46368. RB initially functions as a traditional half-day preschool program for those in the surrounding community between 3 and 5 years in age. RB operates with an understanding of the heightened need for early childhood education in the Portage area. We believe serving this target will increase academic success rates in Portage Township Schools as well as surrounding educational environments. This heightened need, as well as a physical proximity to many families with young children who would benefit from this service, drives the focus of RB. Once establishing a healthy and robust set of outcomes, further early learning opportunities will be explored to even more effectively serve this demographic. This entire focus matches the mission of Real Life Community Church in various ways.

PROJECTED LAUNCH
It is the intention of RB to launch September 2026 with a minimum enrollment of 54 kids (1:12 teacher to student ratio for 4YO: 1:15 for 5YO)
Real Beginnings Preschool Overview
RB will be providing an early education to preschool/Pre-K aged children. Our passion is to provide a high-quality early learning environment designed to nurture children and support families. The school will offer part-time educational programs for the following:

Preschool (ages 3 & 4): Teachers will provide students a robust foundation for their educational journey. Teachers will provide hands-on learning and social interactions to develop a love for gaining new skills. Children will be introduced to the concept of center play with focus in literacy, math, & science. Teachers will foster deeper connections and levels of learning. Curriculum will provide excellent Pre-K educational/social learning.
Pre-K (ages 4-5): Pre-K curriculum will build on the learning concepts from the preschool program, such as literacy, reading, math, science, social interaction, and critical thinking skills. The classroom will be similar to a public school classroom with group work as well as center based learning. Parents will be fully aware of their child's progress through reports and parent-teacher conferences.

Who We Serve
RB will serve Portage and surrounding communities, with our main focus on families with preschool age children, ages 3-5. The family dynamic of our communities range from young married couples with dual incomes to single parent homes with no income. Our goal will be to encourage enrollment offering avenues for government assistance for the latter. Our focus on ensuring our educational and social programs set the children up for success in Kindergarten and further, we will set the standard in our region. We will do this by working alongside local elementary schools to ensure we are preparing the children accordingly and achieving a national accreditation (level 4) in Indiana’s statewide rating system called “Paths to QUALITY”. We will also be setting an ADVISORY COUNCIL consisting of local early childhood teachers, community support agencies, etc. to keep alignment with the Paths to QUALITY and make improvements. The Paths to QUALITY include basic health and safety needs, environment supports children's learning, and planned curriculum to guide and support school readiness.
